Global warming heating up

Filed under: Uncategorized — The People @ am 9:54

In light of the news that the polar ice caps are melting and the world is beginning to flood, the President has decided it’s time to do something. Uh…DUH. The signs have been there for years. Global warming has been more than a theory since around 1930.  Why has it taken nearly 80 years for the government to begin to formulate a plan?

We knew when the factories and businesses that opened in the Industrial Revolution began spewing their poisons into the atmosphere that there would be problems. Since oil is big business, there is no way they were going to just let that boone go and search for clean air technology. We have the technology and have had it for many many years, but no one want to put it into production. Why? No more oil. No more big business. The catch is that if the world dies there won’t be any business at all. Everything will be destroyed…so what really makes more sense? Clean air technology that wil eventually become as profitable as the oil industry and moreso because it prolongs the life of the earth and its inhabitants OR keep on with big business oil, use all the resources the environment has to offer and in the end destroy the world.

It’s time the people stood up for their environment and their well being. Cancer is at an all time high. There are more mental illnesses prevalent today than ever in history. More people are dying from illnesses that don’t even have a name. Stand up for your right to live in a clean and healthy environment. Don’t let them take away our lives.

Reputable Plastic Surgeons in Texas

Filed under: Plastic Surgery, Uncategorized — The People @ pm 8:06

Didn’t want to leave the other side of the country totally out of the cosmetic loop. You also have reputable doctors in the area to aid with your cosmetic needs. The Facial Plastic Surgery Associates has a mission: to help an individual’s outward appearance reflect his inner vitality and beauty. Headed by Russell W. H. Kridel, M.D., who specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face and neck, with special emphasis on cosmetic primary and reconstructive rhinoplasty as well as aging face surgery, F.A.C.S. has instilled its patients with a strong sense of confidence through years of experience, advanced techniques and continuous innovations. The clinic makes use of four state-of-the-art lasers for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation surgery ranging from tattoo and birthmark removal to the elimination of wrinkles and hair.

Dr. Kridel, himself, is spearheading the largest ongoing study in the U.S. on the use of irradiated cartilage grafting in reconstructive rhinoplasty, a nasal reconstruction procedure following accidents or unsuccessful surgeries performed elsewhere. He also works with these Houston plastic surgery procedures: ear pin back, cheek implants, cheek lifts, collagen injections, facial sanding, blemish and scar surgery, brow and forehead lifts, chemical peels, hair transplantation, chin augmentation, double chin removal, face liposuction, laser hair removal, tattoo removal, skincare and anti-aging treatments, and superficial and medium-depth peels.

The clinic’s other areas of expertise include nasal airway surgery, septal perforation repair surgery, eyelid surgery and face lifts, and facial implant surgery. It is also with great pride that I let you all know that Dr. Kridel has established the charitable Face Foundation, which helps battered victims of domestic violence by providing free reconstructive facial surgery.

They are truly answering the call of the people in Houston, Texas.

Spend time with your kids

Filed under: Uncategorized — The People @ pm 4:52

We just had a few great holidays pass: Mother's Day and Father's Day. If you were one of the lucky people who had someone send roses or give you a bouquet of any type of flowers to show you how much they care, then you will probably be looking for a way to use or lose those flowers. Maybe you even have a few silk flowers hanging around that you want to use in some way, but just don't know how.

Here is a great craft idea you can use to spend time with your kids and rid yourself of those flowers at the same time. Create a monogram of flowers! You can customize this project to fit your own personal style and decor by choosing different types of flowers and ribbons. The pastel colored petals are great for use in spring and summer, or with richer colors and velvet ribbon, you can create the same monogram for fall and winter. They are great personalized gifts for just about any occasion, and they are inexpensive.

Supplies needed:

  • 6-inch wood letter of choice
  • white craft paint & paintbrush
  • floral print scrapbook paper
  • glue stick
  • hot glue
  • tacky glue
  • 1 large silk hydrangea
  • 1/4-inch decorative ribbon (enough to go around your letter, plus 10 inches)
  • small rhinestones or ultra fine glitter

Instructions:

First, paint the back, front and sides of the letter with the white craft paint and allow to dry. Next, lightly trace the letter onto the scrapbook paper. Then, cut out the tracing and use a glue stick to attach the paper to the front of the letter, pressing out any air bubbles as you go.

Cut 10 inches off your decorative ribbon; this will be used as your hanger. Turn the letter over and attach the ribbon hanger by forming a “U” shape with the ribbon and hot gluing the ends of the ribbon to the back of the letter about 2 inches from the top.

Use your hot glue gun to attach the remaining ribbon around the outer edge of the letter.

Now comes the really fun part. Break apart the silk flower so you have lots of little petals. Then use hot glue to attach the petals to the front of the letter in any way you like. Lastly, put a drop of glue and add a few sprinkles of ultra fine glitter to the center of the petals or add rhinestones for decorative effect.

Have fun spending time with your family and making special presents for those you love!

Preschool for all? California thinks so.

Filed under: Preschool, america, education, homeschool, nclb, no child left behind, safety, school — The People @ pm 2:53

Who should decide when your child gets introduced to the institution we call public schooling?

What should they be learning? Who will decide?
A campaign is going strong for Californians to vote against Proposition 82. The addition to California law is being seen as a gateway for mandatory preschool for children two to five years of age. Right now, it is only slated as a voluntary program for 4 year olds.

If you remember, they were trying to do this in California before with 18 month old children. For some reason their governing fathers believe that making children leave their parents and join in with the rest of the world before they know what their homes look like is a good thing.

One can't help but wonder why they would even fathom this idea. If the K-12 schools are already underfunded, what makes them think that the preschools will be any different? The track record for their state funded programs like Head Start for underprivileged children should be some indication as to what will occur. There are waiting lists and poor facilities already in place. Who is to say that the new facilities won't be just as bad? Then there is the economy for private facilities to consider. Private preschools won't stand a chance with the new state-funded facilities being "free" to all.

Studies have also shown that the earlier you put a child into formal preschool, the more stressed out and depressed they become earlier in life. They have a higher obesity rate, too. Many experts have added that having a formal curriculum for children too early in their lives stiffles their creativity and free-thinking. They become institutionalized.

If they have behavior problems, they can be expelled from school. What sense does that make? They are children!! Barely out of the womb and expected to behave like sensible adults? If they aren't around their parents to learn how to behave in social settings such as school, how will they ever learn to behave correctly?

Urge everyone you know to write to their legislature and strike down this new threat to our children.

Vote NO on 82

Ineffective Preschool

It's UP to you!

Make gas cheaper and invest in your future

Filed under: Uncategorized — The People @ am 10:56

I remember not so long ago when gas was a mere 88 cents per gallon for regular. Five gallons of gas was less than $5. That was when the American dollar was backed by real silver. The same amount of silver that bought 5 gallons of gas back then will still buy the same amount of gas now. Can you still say that about the American dollar? Real money, like gold and silver, never lose their value.

Everything you can think to buy has increased in price in recent years. It's not because the economy, it's because of the green dollar. It has no true value because it is no longer backed by REAL money. The prices haven't gone up, the value of the US dollar has actually gone down.

How do you make sure that you are protected in the times to come?

Buying Gold Bars is one way to soundly invest your money. Investment experts have recommended that at least 10% of an investor's assets be devoted reliable assets such as gold, silver and platinum bullion and bullion coins.

With the instability of this day, there are many sound reasons to consider investing in precious metals now. Look over your finances and check out options for having safe investments for you and your family's future. Make sure that they have the one thing that will continue to keep value so they don't have to feel like the prices are passing them by.

What matters?

Filed under: Uncategorized — The People @ am 12:12

What really matters is the deficit between the fantasy world the government would LIKE for you to believe in versus the reality in which we suffer every day.

Welcome to what really matters to the people.

W, it would be wise for you to keep your eye on this blog…
